Prof. QIAO Xuan

Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Department of Diplomacy

 

Prof. Qiao’s research covers a broad area, ranging from diplomatic and business etiquette and economic cooperation in South East Asia, to China’s national image and talent security strategy. He holds a PhD degree from Renmin University of China. A prolific author, Prof. Qiao authored five monographs on regional cooperation, talent flow in developed countries and the concept of courtesy in contemporary business and political setting. He published over 20 articles in the past years, some of them reprinted in full and published in forefront national academic journals. In his scholarly writings, he addresses the issues of China’s national image and new cultural diplomacy, President Xi’s foreign policy, China’s talent recruitment, the evolution of the Sino-Japanese relations as well as the Sino-African cooperation. 

 

Prof. Qiao has led several national and ministry-level academic research projects, focusing on transnational population movements, the development of China’s innovative strategy and China’s national image.

 

Prof. Qiao Xuan lectures on Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels on topics related to International Relations, Diplomacy and Foreign Policy.
