Prof. Wang Hongyu

Prof. Hongyu Wang holds a BA in politics, an MA in administration and a PhD in Political Science from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. He has also been awarded a PhD in International Relations from Renmin University of China (RUC). Currently, Prof. Wang is an associate professor, MA students’ supervisor and the executive director of the Centre for Economic Diplomacy at the School of International Relations (SIR) of the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). He is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

 Prof. Wang holds the title of Vice Secretary General of the Chinese Association of Economic Diplomacy. He is also affiliated with the Institute for European Studies (IES) and the Department of Political Science at VUB as a Senior Associate Researcher. Prof. Wang published several books, book chapters, and journal articles on China economic diplomacy and the EU politics. He leads several research programs funded by the Chinese government and his university. His research fields include European studies, international political economy, policy networks, EU-China relations and Chinese economic diplomacy.
