International Exchange Programs
At SIR, we offer a large palette of academic exchanges, for both our students and faculty.

We have signed comprehensive exchange agreements with Dalhousie University (Canada), Denver University (USA), University of Warwick (UK), Bocconi University (Italy) and other prestigious universities in Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, as well as in North and South America.

The number of our exchange students have increased dramatically since the exchange platform has been established. Two students went to study in Canada in 2007, three others went to the United States in 2008 and other five went to Canada in 2009. In 2010, nine of our students went to study abroad in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom and eleven students studied in the United States, Canada, France, Japan, Norway, Poland and Taiwan in the following year. In 2013, four of our students went to our partnering universities in United States, Russia and Taiwan.

At faculty level, our scholars have often been invited as guest speakers to international conferences held in Northern America, Europe and Asia. Virtually all our academics have been studying and conducting research overseas, with some of the faculty holding joint fellowships in the United States, Great Britain, Singapore or Germany. In return, famous international scholars and professionals in the field have visited SIR and lectured on topics of wide interest. In 2015, Mr. Mukul Sanwal, former United Nations Environment Programme Senior Advisor, offered a series of lectures to the faculty and students of SIR. Until December 2015, a total of 60 foreign experts have been hired by SIR to give lectures in the field of political science, international relations, culture or foreign affairs.

SIR of UIBE is not only a top school of International Relations in China, but aims for a truly global vocation, offering both its academics and students real opportunities for study and research overseas. A student of SIR is a global student.
