 Science, to International Politics and Diplomacy. The postgraduate school offers four majors in Political Theory, Comparative Politics, International Relations and Diplomacy. Multiple majors are available at undergraduate level.
 
Our prospective international students can choose between a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (with a specialization in Economic Diplomacy) or a Master of Arts in International Relations (with a specialization in China’s Political Economy and Foreign Affairs). Each of the programmes above is offered in both English and Chinese. 
 
The Department of Political Science is the oldest in SIR, established in January 2006, as part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. In January 2010, following an overall institutional reorganization, it became the Department of Political Science. The Department is in charge with the main courses of the Political Science and Public Administration Major, holding both graduate and postgraduate courses in Political Science Theory, Comparative Political Science, International Relations and Foreign Affairs. The department conducts extensive research, publishing monographs, textbooks and academic articles. Political identity, political participation, contemporary Chinese political development, the history of Western political thought and comparative political economy are among its key research areas.    
 
The Department of International Politics was established in January 2006, within the framework of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Since January 2010, it became part of the School of International Relations. Responsible for a wide range of courses, taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, the Department of International Politics carries various national, regional and university-based research projects. Among its research clusters, the regional economic and political cooperation, national image, soft power and overseas interests of China, are the most prominent. The Department maintains exchange programs with numerous similar institutions around the world. 
 
The Department of International Political Economy was established in January 2010. In terms of teaching, the Department represents the backbone of SIR, with courses being taught at both graduate and postgraduate levels. The Department publishes regularly, in national and international academic journals, and conducts numerous research projects, both at national and regional level, with research clusters in economic diplomacy, public diplomacy, cyberspace governance and international political and economic relations.
