Florida International University Delegation Visits UIBE’s School of International Relations

On November 8th, 2018, a delegation from Florida International University (FIU) visited UIBE’s School of International Relations (SIR) at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). During the visit, the academics of the two universities exchanged views and stressed the role of international communications and academic exchanges as core academic values. Members of the Florida International University (FIU) delegation included Prof. Lu Peng, Vice President of FIU, Prof. Harry D. Gould, Deputy Dean of the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs at FIU, and Ms. Gao Lin, President of the China Alumni Association of FIU. Prof. Wang Bo, Deputy Dean of the School of International Studies at the UIBE, received the guests and saluted the initiative of intensifying the academic exchanges between the two universities. Ms. Li Xiuting and Ms. Yang Liu similarly conveyed their welcome to the foreign delegation.

Prof.Wang introduced SIR’s achievements in the field of talent cultivation, discipline development, international communication and cooperation to the delegates, stressing over the importance the School attaches to its social role and development vision. Vice President Lu Peng introduced the scope of FIU academic activities, as well as its characteristics and advantages within the American educational landscape. FIU ranks among the top public universities in the United States. FIU’s International Relations Programme of the university ranks among the top ten in the United States. The two sides discussed the feasibility of the future training of talents at the three levels of bachelor, master and doctor as well as the academic and scientific exchanges and cooperation between faculties and agreed to work towards establishing a comprehensive cooperation agreement in the future.
