The Department of Diplomacy was founded in January 2010. With courses taught at both graduate and postgraduate levels, the Department of Diplomacy aims at delivering superior educational programs in response to the ever increasing needs of professionalization among diplomats and foreign affairs specialists. Department’s research projects have been funded at national, municipal and university level and focused on a broad range of topics, such as public diplomacy, political communication, media outreach and public policies.

The School of International Relations hosts several research centers, with outstanding research achievements and publications in China and overseas. The International Energy and Environment Research Center, the Center for Economic Diplomacy, International Migration and Security Studies Center, the National Center for Strategic Studies and Soft Power, the Contemporary China Political Development Research Center and the Big Data Analytics and International Relations Center have conducted multiple projects at national, municipal and university level.
